Discover Sardinia

Sardinia is a country on its own, with ancient traditions and folklore.

Sardinia is mostly famous for the magnificent landscapes: a typical Mediterranean environment, horizons of untainted and wild nature, secret beaches and swimming pool-like sea.

But there is so much more. The history of this land remains intact and raw, and it makes possible to visit some of the most ancient villages in the entire Italian peninsula. The most important, the Nora excavations, treasures the ruins of: an acropolis, a Punic temple dedicated to the goddess Tanit, a Roman theatre (which is still used during the summer months and is the only one of its kind in Sardinia), four thermal baths, and Punic and Roman dwellings. Wow.

The wild nature doesn’t show off only with the famous Maddalena Archipelago, a compound of more than 60 islands of natural granite and schist with the bluest sea you’ll ever see. In the South part of the island you will may visit the Is Zudda caves: a 500mt path with a constant 16° temperature, enriched by a bright marvelous complex of stalagmites and stalactites of the most incredible shapes.

Last but not least, it is possible to witness the ancient tradition of the Mamoiada carnival: the show of the Mamuthones, monstrous characters boasting thick hair, black faces and burdened with the weight of 60 pounds of cattle bells hanging around their body, rhythmically stomp and grunt through villages, moving forward in accordance with a rigid pattern of two parallel lines.

This are just few of the things Sardinia hides in its land.
