Our selection for this year’s spring-summer events!

 

Spring is finally at our doors! We shouldn’t get caught unprepared. So we are here  to take a look at what will be happening in Italy in the next months and to get ready in time for the events we cannot miss!

 

Italy is always buzzing for all kinds of occasions, it’s hard not to find ourselves thinking “this sounds great, I have to be there”. Have a look at our selection of springs & summer events and take notes!

 

April

After the Disney movie “Luca”. Liguria found it’s time to shine. But we know already that every year in April the main city of Genoa offers a one in a lifetime occasion. For only a few days, all the most splendid palaces open its gates and present themselves with their most beautiful looks. The Rolli days are the perfect occasion to visit the region of Liguria!

 

May

There is a first time for everything! This year it’s the time of the Monferrato Wine Festival. These hills in Piedmont, north of Italy, are now a UNESCO heritage site together with the more famous Langhe region. But here’s where the well-known red wine Barbera D’Asti is produced. This event is finally an occasion to celebrate all the local producers and the “Monferrato identity” that puts wine at its center.

 

June

In 2023 we celebrate the hundredth anniversary of one of the most famous monument and UNESCO heritage sites in Italy: the Arena of Verona. From June to September a grandiose set of events will be held in one of the most beautiful and historically-relevant locations in the whole world. The arena di Verona can host up to 22k persons and its story goes way back to the Romans age.

 

July

This year marks the 50th anniversary of one of the most important music festival in the world, Umbria Jazz. In the heart of Italy, an itinerant journey of jazz in the three main towns of the green region of Umbria: Perugia, Orvieto and Terni. An occasion to celebrate and learn more about this fascinating music genre in gorgeous locations

 

August

The Italian summer can’t exist without the Night of the taranta Arrived at its 26th edition, this magical night hosts, in the town of Melpignano (Puglia) dancers and performers for a night of fun and dance. The taranta is a folkloristic Italian dance, born in the south of Italy, as well as the “pizzica” the music that accompanies this frenetic and captivating dance.

 

September

The historical regatta of Venice is one of the most picturesque and spectacular events in this beautiful city. It’s a long-standging tradition but the regatta as we know it it’s a yearly tradition since 1840. It is a parade of dozens and dozens of typical sixteenth-century boats, multicolored and with gondoliers in costume in a faithful reconstruction of the glorious past of Venice.
