welcome to

MOLISE

This small region partly overlooks the Adriatic Sea and has a rich diversity of wildlife.
It is a highly appreciated region especially from an artistic point of view: there are many works of art and Ancient Roman ruins here, set in unspoiled nature, making Molise a paradise for trekkers and hikers.

Rome FCO and Pescara are the closest international airports. They are 244/164 km from Campobasso, the main city.

Best time for a trip: ideally from April to October.

What to expect: city tours, culture, Roman ruins, food and wine, nature.

fun facts

Molise is called the land of castles, as it has many important historical medieval castles. It is also known as the Italian Greenwich: here two imaginary lines cross, the 42nd parallel north and the 15th meridian east. And for some reason, despite all that, there is a running joke in Italy that claims Molise actually doesn’t exist!
