TUSCANY

From the Etruscans to the Romans to the Renaissance, Tuscany is possibly the greatest repository of art in the world, from extraordinary paintings and sculpture to frescoes and architectural masterpieces. There is indeed a lot to see and do in Tuscany! You'll also be surprised at how much you can eat on this trip, and yet it's impossible to taste everything!

Rome FCO is the closest international airport. It is 300km from Florence, the main city Florence has its own airport which serves the area.

Best time for a trip: ideally from April to October.

What to expect: gastronomy and wine tasting, culture visits, city sightseeing and Vespa tour.

fun facts

There are more UNESCO sites in Tuscany than in Australia or South Africa.

If you are eating bread, don’t be surprised if you don’t taste the salt. The Tuscan bread (also called “silly bread”) is made without salt because of an old recipe that traces its origin to an ancient tax dispute.

Florence’s dialect gave birth to the modern Italian language.
